'Angry Birds Star Wars:' Rovio Releases First Trailer For New Game (VIDEO)

WATCH: First 'Angry Birds Star Wars' Trailer

Rovio Entertainment has released the first trailer for "Angry Birds Star Wars," its "tie-in game with Lucas Film," Mashable reports.

In this short clip, which features original footage from "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope," a pig-faced Death Star is shown looming menacingly in outer space.

It seems that even in the "Star Wars" universe, the bitter birds are still pretty angry at their arch-nemesis, the "Bad Piggies."

“This is one of the few times Lucasfilm has allowed for such use of the original material, and we feel the end result is creative, powerful, and most importantly a lot of fun for fans of both 'Angry Birds' and 'Star Wars',” Ville Heijari, vice president of franchise development at Rovio, told Mashable.

This is not the first time that "Angry Birds" has taken on an icon of pop culture. Last month, legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury was immortalized as an honorary character of the popular video game just in time for the anniversary of his birthday.

The "Angry Birds Star Wars" game will be available on Nov. 8, and toy company Hasbro has announced that a whole "variety of products" will be made available in the beginning of November to coincide with the game's launch, website Media Connection Online writes.

“This is the best 'Angry Birds' game we’ve ever done," claimed Rovio CMO Peter Vesterbacka in a statement obtained by ABC News. "It’s the best parts of 'Angry Birds' with all new cutting-edge gameplay set in in a galaxy far, far away. As a big 'Star Wars' fan myself, I’m really excited about this new universe. The Force is definitely strong with this one.”
