Rumors -- in the form of a drip-drip-drip of New York Post stories -- continue to swirl about what Jeff Zucker might do when he takes over as head of CNN. The former NBC chief is still turning up for work at his current job on Katie Couric's talk show, but that hasn't stopped the gossip from flowing. (Will he move Erin Burnett to mornings? Piers Morgan to late nights?)

The latest Page Six story in Wednesday's edition drops the juiciest morsel of speculation yet, by reporting that Zucker is interested in yanking Ann Curry away from NBC and possibly giving her Anderson Cooper's primetime slot. Cooper would then take on, in the Post's words, "a 'Christiane Amanpour role' as a globetrotting correspondent."

There are many obstacles to this notion -- Cooper's status as the most popular figure on CNN and Curry's recently signed, long-term, multi-million dollar contract with NBC among them -- but it is a fun one nonetheless. To picture Curry bolting her still-awkward situation at NBC for the man who worked with her on "Today" and turning into the queen of cable? Delicious.
