WATCH: Ann Curry Reunites Lost American With Family In Japan

Ann Curry played the role of hero in Japan when she located a woman whose family in America had lost touch with her in the wake of the massive earthquake that struck the country on Friday.

Megan Walsh sent Curry a tweet on Sunday, asking her to help find her sister, an English teacher who had gone missing in the Japanese town of Minamisanriku, which was heavily damaged by a tsunami.

So Curry went to the town and asked local residents if they had seen Walsh's sister, Canon Purdy. Amazingly, people directed Curry to Purdy, and Purdy called her family in California. All of this was captured on camera, and Curry, Purdy, Walsh and their parents appeared on Monday's "Today" show to talk about what had happened.
