Ann Romney Had Health Scare In March

Ann Romney had a health scare right before Super Tuesday, she said in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" that airs Thursday.

"I was quite fatigued, and I knew I couldn't quit," she said. "I didn't tell anybody I was tired."

Romney was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998 and she has talked about her struggles and her husband's support on the campaign trail. When asked what the scare involved, Romney said, "You know, what happens with me is that I start to almost lose my words. I almost can't think. I can't get my words out. I start to stumble a little bit and so those things were happening and I thought, 'Uh oh, big trouble.'"

Romney manages the degenerative disease with diet and exercise, and spending time with the family's horses helps. She has said that her struggles have made her empathetic to others who are suffering--and then went a step further trying to relate to those whose problems are financial.

"We can be poor in spirit, and I don't even consider myself wealthy, which is an interesting thing," she told Fox News last month. "It can be here today and gone tomorrow."
