Anna Kendrick In 'End Of Watch': Jake Gyllenhaal Love Interest In Negotiations

'Twilight' Star Battle! Whose Career Might Get BIGGER Than Kristen Stewart?

Sure, Kristen Stewart gets all the fan awards and awkward magazine profiles, not to mention attention on her personal life, but very quietly, it's looking like another actress is becoming the breakout star from "The Twilight Saga." And she's not even a vampire.

Anna Kendrick, who plays human high schooler Jessica Stanley in the teen fiction big screen bonanza, has already been nominated for every major acting award, including garnering Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA nods, for her stellar supporting work in the George Clooney dramedy "Up In the Air." She then put in a strong performance in critical and cult favorite, "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," with Michael Cera, proving her range and burnishing her cool cred.

This fall, she'll star in a pivotal role in the cancer dramedy, "50/50," playing a young therapist -- and maybe more -- to a suffering Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The film, given its release date, star power and subject matter, may be gunning for a dark horse Oscar campaign, and at the very least, pairs Kendrick with a veritable A-list leading man.

Now, Variety reports that Kendrick is closing in on co-starring with another A-list heartthrob, taking on the role of Jake Gyllenhaal's wife in the drama "End of Watch," slated to film this summer. The story of two best friend Los Angeles cops, the film will co-star Michael Pena as the other police officer and Natalie Martinez, a TV cop herself in "Detroit 1-8-7", as his love interest.

Given her stature, Kendrick can expect one of the top billings on the film, pretty big stature for both someone so young and someone so underplayed in "Twilight." How does it compare to Stewart's post-"Twilight" career plans?

Stewart has a whole host of strong projects herself -- she's already starred as punk rocker Joan Jett in "The Runaways," and will take center stage in the long-awaited big screen adaptation of the Kerouac novel, "On The Road." After that, she'll star in "Snow White and the Huntsman," opposite Charlize Theron, "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth and "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," actor Sam Claflin.

Hard to say who will come out as the bigger actress -- and really, it doesn't much matter -- but one thing is for sure: while only one Forks lady gets to become a vampire, it looks like two are becoming stars.
