Anna Wintour Named 69th Most Powerful Woman By Forbes

Anna Wintour likes to pretend she's not that powerful. She demures, she uses the phrase "keep my head down" a lot, she speaks in measured tones.

Forbes released its "The World's 100 Most Powerful Women" list and fashion's biggest name nabbed the #69 spot. She spoke to reporter Jenna Goudreau about her favorite Vogue-oriented talking points (Fashion's Night Out, her favorite cover stars, Michelle Obama) but was also pressed on just what it means to be powerful.

The famously icy editrix said:

I don’t think of myself as a powerful person. You know, what does it mean? It means you get a better seat in a restaurant or tickets to a screening or whatever it may be. But it is a wonderful opportunity to be able to help others, and for that I’m extremely grateful.

But sure, restaurants. That's what it's all about.

It's also, in part, about money -- Gisele Bundchen also made Forbes' "Powerful Women" list this year, mainly because she is the richest supermodel in the world. Now that's power.
