Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour sat down with the BBC to talk about late designer Alexander McQueen and his legacy ahead of the Costume Gala exhibit in his honor, which you can preview here.

She recalled when McQueen attended the "Anglomania" Costume Institute Gala in 2006: "I will always remember him arriving and walking up the steps to the Metropolitan Museum with Sarah Jessica Parker and the two of them were both these two visions in matching tulle and tartan and he was just so excited and thrilled to be there."

Wintour noted that McQueen's influence is everywhere and, "his mind was just extraordinary" -- his collections entirely "figments of his imagination from so many aspects of nature, politics, culture."
