Shut Up! Anne Hathaway Remembers 'Princess Diaries' 15-Year Anniversary With Sweet Instagram

Fifteen years ago, an 18-year-old Anne Hathaway stole our hearts as Princess Mia, the rightful heir to Genovia’s throne.

Hathaway marked the “Princess Diaries” milestone with a sweet Instagram post on Wednesday paired with one of Mia’s favorite phrases, “Shut up!”

“To all the fans who have loved Mia, Louie, Lily, Joe, Michael and, of course, Queen Clarisse, thank you from the bottom of my heart!” the actress wrote, before adding a note honoring the film’s late director.

“And to Garry Marshall, thank you for making me a princess. I love you always, my beloved friend and teacher, and I miss you every day.”

Before he died in late July, Marshall sent fans into a tizzy by confirming a third “Princess Diaries” movie.

“I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do ‘Princess Diaries 3’ in Manhattan,” the director told People. “Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we’re going to do it.”
