Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the show was ready for an Emmy of anything. But JJ Abrams, is respected in the industry and we've seen other shows be given the time to be nurtured and to grow their audiences -- Fringe anyone? (Also, incidentally, another JJ Abrams creation). Undercovers instead has gone the way of Taye Diggs' Day Break. The reason?

"Only a lowly 5.8 million viewers tuned in for last week's show. Undercovers was primetime TV's first drama to star two Black actors in the lead roles. Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw played married CIA operatives who take on sticky cases around the world while operating a catering business." (Popcrunch)

Now, if you're a white person and you're reading this, I understand if you just don't get it. But as people of color, and I'm not just talking to blacks here, and I also know you're out there in the HuffPo audience, we literally watch hours and hours of television and films -- where if we choose to be entertained (something to evaluate perhaps) -- we must pretend to see ourselves. Do you know how crazy that is? Pretending to see a black person (or someone who looks like you) when everyone (or mostly everyone) is white? It's kinda nuts. But we accept it, more or less. Blacks are perhaps more vocal about these issues, but the same could be said for anyone who feels underrepresented in this culture.

And don't talk to me about Obama. The very fact that he's such an anomaly proves my point. He shows how underrepresented we are on so many levels of society.

So what does one do? Wait around for the network (the studios, the whatever) to do the right thing?

Good luck with that.

1. Maybe, turn the tv off.
2. Maybe support films that show YOU.
Come to think of it -- why not make one?!
3. Maybe support alternative networks like those being developed now by Oprah and Tyler Perry.
4. Maybe create something of your own that honors your humanity. Wow, I just wrote that, it's amazing to me that that's really what we're talking about, acknowledging our equal human-ness.
5. And if you're still not satisfied, and you'd like to express your concern over the cancellation of Undercovers do email them.

On a personal note, I've been trying to chill out, even was very Zen about the whole midterm elections when I could have written some I told you so article. I'm a new Logan! I said.

Well, I'm working on it.
