Following in the footsteps of fellow celebrities Susan Sarandon and Tony Hawk, chef and Emmy-winning television host Anthony Bourdain spoke out in support of same-sex marriage this week as part of the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) Americans for Marriage Equality campaign.

"The people I admire -- whoever they are, wherever they are -- are people who are proud, who do things with love [and] feel a sense of responsibility to others," Bourdain says in the HRC clip. "The desire to love and be responsible to another person, to commit to another human being -- these are virtues."

Among those to praise the "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations" host, 58, was HRC spokesperson Charles Joughin.

“While some foods and customs are unique to certain cultures and countries, one theme transcends all borders -- love," Joughin said in an email statement. "We are incredibly grateful to Anthony for his commitment to equality and for speaking out in favor of marriage rights for loving gay and lesbian couples nationwide.”
