Anthony Bourdain Ratings: 'Parts Unknown' Premiere Wins Demo

Anthony Bourdain's CNN Show Debuts To Strong Ratings

Finally, some great news for CNN: the premiere of Anthony Bourdain's CNN show "Parts Unknown" on Sunday night was the most-watched cable news show in the demo all weekend.

Deadline reported that the show, which aired at 9 p.m., drew 747,000 total viewers. Of those viewers, 282,000 were ages 25-to-54. CNN beat out its rivals in the key demo for that timeslot. By comparison, MSNBC drew 171,000 viewers ages 25-54, and Fox News 137,000.

The results come as welcome news for CNN, which has been revamping its programming in attempt to jumpstart lagging ratings. Bourdain's show was announced last year. He traveled to Myanmar for the premiere, and went to the Congo and Libya for other episodes.

In total viewers, Fox News topped the other networks with 1.33 million viewers at 9 p.m.. CNN, though, came in second with a big quarter-to-date increase in total viewers for the timeslot.
