Anthony Bourdain Wants To See The Pumpkin Spice Trend 'Drowned In Its Own Blood'

He's also afraid of Switzerland.

Pumpkin spice lovers, you might want to cover your ears for this one.

Anthony Bourdain gave a Reddit AMA Tuesday in which there are too many gems to single out just one. But if we had to choose, our favorite moment is Bourdain’s choice words for one extremely polarizing subject: pumpkin spice.

“I would like to see the pumpkin spice craze drowned in its own blood,” he replied when asked which food trends he would like to see die.

Harsh? Maybe. On point? Absolutely. The “No Reservations” host also destroyed the juice cleanse fad (”I mean, if you’ve ever had a colonoscopy, the doctor gives you something that will cleanse you right quick”). And while he acknowledged that Celiac disease is a “very serious ailment” and is glad gluten-free options exist for those who have it, he said “people who are treating gluten as, you know, an equivalent of Al Qaeda are worrying to me.”

See? We told you it was perfect.

Bourdain went on to answer a slew of other questions, too, including what eating with the president is like, where he stands on the hot dog/sandwich debate (”the bread is a delivery system... It’s not a classic sandwich, in my view”) and which countries he’d still like to visit.

The President's chopstick skills are on point . #buncha #hanoi

Afghanistan and Yemen make the list, as well as Switzerland, because he has a “childhood-born phobia” of the country.
