Anthony Weiner was spotted outside his childhood home Thursday filming what appeared to be a campaign video, likely for his highly anticipated run for New York City mayor.

But once Weiner's production crew noticed NBC reporters, filming reportedly halted and the crew quickly decamped elsewhere.

NBC reports Weiner and wife Huma Abedin were being filmed on the stoop of Weiner's childhood home in Park Slope. It's the same location where Weiner announced his 2005 bid for mayor, and the same location where he later withdrew from that race.

On Wednesday, Weiner indicated he'd have to make a decision about the 2013 mayor's race soon. He said he'd make an announcement in a 'matter of days.'

Also earlier this week, Weiner reportedly hired Danny Kedem to be his possible campaign manager.

Last month, he launched a new Twitter account and released a 21-page booklet outlining his policy proposals for the city.

If Weiner were to announce a campaign soon, he'd have a healthy start in the polls. In the crowded filed of Democratic candidates, the most recent numbers have Weiner in second place behind frontrunner Christine Quinn.
