Could There Be Cities Just For Anti-Gay People In Our Future?

Bye Felicia.

The leader of an anti-gay Christian group wants all homophobes to form their own cities so they can escape things like marriage equality and other basic civil rights.

Linda Harvey, president of the Columbus-based Mission: America, waxed poetic in an article for the conservative WND titled "WHERE ARE SANCTUARY CITIES FOR MARRIAGE?" Harvey took issue with County Clerk Kim Davis being jailed for defying the Supreme Court's ruling and refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples in Kentucky.

"[T]yranny and mythology are winning and American constitutional principles and the rule of law are losing, as well as reasonable accommodation for Christian beliefs," she writes. Later proposing: "Since we are beginning to see violations of constitutional rights based on objections to homosexuality as marriage, I believe there’s a clear precedent for establishing sanctuary cities for authentic, lawful, man/woman marriage."

These cities, she says, would be "much healthier and safer" without gay pride parades or anti-discrimination laws, but with "gay cure" programs. This, coming from a woman who believes an LGBT protection bill is a “fascist attempt to dismantle the First Amendment” and who thinks transgender people are possessed by demons.

"Marriage sanctuary cities are a wild proposal, but why not? It’s not just a good idea -- it’s the law," she concludes.

To that we say: see ya, Linda!
