Anti-Legal Immigration Group Makes Ad Buy For Conventions

Anti-Legal Immigration Ad Rap: Immigrants 'Take Our Jobs ... That's Not Cool'

An anti-legal immigration group is out with more ads this week -- this time aimed at young voters -- targeting politicians from both sides who support allowing more legal immigrants into this country,

The ad released Tuesday by NumbersUSA features a young man rapping -- a press release calls it "light, humorous rap lyrics about his jobless predicament" -- and asking why the government lets in legal immigrants when so many recent college graduates are out of work.

"Politicians in D.C. don't seem to care about you and me, bringing in almost a million immigrant workers a year to take our jobs -- right here," the man says. "Let's tell Congress that's not cool."

NumbersUSA, along with the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and Progressives for Immigration Reform, is ramping up its advertising ahead of the November elections in hopes of pressuring lawmakers to oppose efforts to expand immigration.

NumbersUSA is allied with FAIR as one of three anti-legal immigration organizations founded by John Tanton. FAIR is classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

NumbersUSA aired ads earlier this year with a similar message, including a $100,000 ad buy in South Carolina ahead of the Jan. 21 primary.
