Apple Black Friday 2012 Sale: Price Chopped On iPads, iPods, Macs And Others Products

Apple Kicks Off Its Black Friday Sale

Apple on November 23 kicked off the holiday shopping season with its annual Black Friday sale.

Visitors to the company's online retail site or in-store locations around the country will be treated to one-day discounts on iPads, iPods, MacBooks and other gadgets and accessories. For example, users can get $41 off a $499 iPad with Retina display, $31 off a $399 iPad 2 and $31 dollars off a $299 iPod Touch, among several other deals.

One of Apple's biggest bargains is on laptops, which, while it won't win any doorbuster prizes, is still a sizable discount on a pricey item. For example, markdowns include $101 off a $1,699 MacBook Pro with Retina display, $101 off a $1,199 MacBook Pro and $101 off a $999 MacBook Air.

Just like last year, there were no discounts offered on any iPhone models. And don't bother looking around for an iPad mini discount -- there isn't one of those to be had, either. (There's always next year.)

The store began offering its Black Friday discounts online after midnight PST on Nov. 23 (3 a.m. EST). Brick-and-mortar retail sites open their doors at 7 a.m. local time on Friday and will stay open till midnight the next night.

Other retail outlets are knocking down the price of some Apple goods, too. Check out Forbes' roundup of the best Apple Black Friday deals from Target, BestBuy and Walmart to see where you can find the greatest rollbacks in stores and online. Amazon.com also offers some significantly reduced-price Apple gadgets, like an iPad for 40-percent off the ticket price.
