Apple Stores Will Finally Let You Walk In And Buy An Apple Watch

Right now, you can only buy the Apple Watch online. But that's changing this month.

Apple announced in a press release Thursday that "some models" of the wearable device will be available to purchase in the company's brick-and-mortar retail stores starting in two weeks. Currently, it's possible to look at and try the smartwatch in retail stores, but purchases are handled via Apple's website.

The move coincides with Apple Watch's launch in Italy, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Taiwan.

Apple Watch is the company's most successful product launch to date, though critics were initially a bit skeptical of the device.

Many customers who ordered the device online have yet to receive it, though Apple noted in Thursday's press release that those watches will be delivered within two weeks -- unless you bought the "42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet" model, in which case you're in for a longer, unspecified wait.

An Apple Watch costs anywhere from $349 for the most basic model to $17,000 for a gold version.
