Ariana Grande isn't one to shy away from speaking out about sexism, and once again she's proved that she's a ("dangerous") woman who has absolutely zero time for haters.
The "Problem" singer responded to a sexist commenter who called her a "whore" on Facebook Saturday. The Huffington Post has reached out to Grande's rep about the response and will update this post accordingly.
As visible in screenshots, the commenter wrote, "Ariana all respect, but dangerous woman I loved but the trouble is that in he [sic] video salts like a whore!...sorry for the rudeness, I only just said the truth...SORRY."
But Grande hit back, pointing out the double standard in today's society before telling the hater to "get your head out of your ass."
"When will people stop being offended by women showing skin/expressing sexuality? men take their shirts off / express their sexuality on stage, in videos, on instagram, anywhere they want to...all. the. time," she wrote. "The double standard is so boring and exhausting. with all due respect, i think it's time you get your head out of your ass. woman [sic] can love their bodies too!!"
This isn't the first time Grande's spoken out about equality for women.
Last November, she shut down a couple of sexist bros who asked her tone deaf questions during a radio interview, and back in June, she called out the media's lazy tendency to define women by the men "who they’re dating/married to/attached to, having sex with (or not)/seen with."
"Being ‘empowered’ is not the same as being a ‘bitch,'" the 22-year-old musician wrote on Twitter, adding, “i am tired of living in a world where women are mostly referred to as a man’s past, present or future PROPERTY/POSSESSION."
Always remember:
