Seasons may change, empires may rise and fall, but rest assured that Ariel Winter still doesn’t care what you think about how she dresses.

The 19-year-old actress caused quite a stir over her outfit at a screening of the season finale of her hit show “Modern Family” on Thursday night. While the rest of the cast opted for less glamorous attire, Winter stopped traffic in a gold cleavage-baring minidress.

Apparently, this caused an uproar on social media, where many slammed Winter for her style choice, calling the getup inappropriate for the occasion.

Cue Winter taking to Instagram to hit back at her haters for trying to police what she wears on the red carpet or anywhere else because what matters most is how she feels in the dress.

“Why TF does anyone care that I didn’t dress casual like everyone else for the panel? Why do I have to be like everyone else?” Winter wrote in an Instagram note.

“Why can’t people just let other people feel good about themselves and do what they want?” she continued. “WEAR WHATEVER YOU WANT PEOPLE!”

“As long as you feel good about yourself that’s what matters. I know I did. Don’t ever let anyone stifle who you are and how your express yourself. Rant over.”

Throughout her time starring on the ABC sitcom, Winter has been the target of relentless criticism about her appearance, whether it be for her risqué graduation dress or breast reduction scars.

However, she doesn’t seem too fazed. Turning lemons into lemonade, Winter has become an outspoken body-positivity queen on social media by regularly shutting down anyone who spreads toxicity online.

“Every time someone bullies me online, it gives me a chance to re-emphasize to my fans, and even myself, how important self-acceptance is,” she wrote back in 2015 after yet another incident of body-shaming. “I love my fans and I love my bullies for what they truly NEED is love. Take the high road, there is less traffic.”
