Stars Shimmer Above Stark Desert Landscape In Trippy New Video

Trippy time-lapses of the stars are nothing new. But few videos juxtapose the sky overhead and the land below as beautifully as a new one (above) shot at Arizona's stunning sandstone formation known as the Wave.

The video was created by Los Angeles-based filmmakers Gavin Heffernan and Harun Mehmedinović in collaboration with BBC Earth.

"My favorite part is the 'vortex' star trails effect at the very end," Heffernan told The Huffington Post, "which gives kind of a cool 3D perspective."
