Arkansas Senate Midterm Election Results: Tom Cotton Defeats Mark Pryor

Sen. Mark Pryor lost to Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) in one of the country's most competitive Senate races Tuesday.

Leading up to Nov. 4, Republicans had targeted Pryor as one of the most vulnerable Democratic incumbents and had worked to tie him to President Barack Obama. In response, Democrats tried to make Cotton vulnerable over his votes against the farm bill, federal disaster aid and funding pediatric research at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Pryor was first elected to the Senate in 2002.
