"Arrested Development" Movie Finally a Go?

The Daily News is reporting today that the "'Arrested Development' movie is on!" They are taking one of the show's stars, Jeffrey Tambor, at his word that he will make long-time hold out, Michael Cera, act in the film.

"If I have to call him up and say, 'Get on set right now, young man,' he'll be there, the movie is going to happen this year, and Michael Cera is on board. Trust me."

In mid-2008, the show's lead, Jason Bateman, told MTV the movie would almost certainly happen if they could find the money. Which, according to the Hollywood Reporter, they did in November with Mitch Hurwitz (the shows creator) and Ron Howard (the show's executive producer) closing deals "for the long-gestating project from Imagine and Fox Searchlight."

Before that, Bateman's co-star Will Arnett, urged fans to "threaten Fox" to get the movie made:

Hopeful fans have created an IMDB entry, with message boards bashing Michael Cera's indecision, and eager blogs have listed possible movie plots. The show drew meager ratings, but was critically acclaimed, and gained a cult following after it's finale.
