'Arrow' Three-Minute Movie Trailer Proves Television Is As Big As Movies

'Arrow' Gets Awesome 3-Minute Movie Trailer

If we ever needed proof that television is doing work every bit as epic and powerful as the movie industry, we need look no further than the epic movie trailer The CW released for "Arrow." The show, in its second season, is proving itself a reliable hit for the network. But rather than just enjoy its success, The CW put together this powerful trailer that perfectly captures the superhero adventures.

"Arrow" is a show careening toward a massive showdown between Oliver Queen and the man who helped keep him alive on that island for five years, Slade Wilson. Throw in the Suicide Squad and Arrow's own team of superheroes, and it's going to be one hell of a battle.

It's a testament to the network that they're throwing this kind of promotional effort behind a show in the middle of its second season. Here's hoping other shows realize the huge potential of such an undertaking, and we see cinematic-quality trailers for more of our favorite television shows. It's just further proof that we're in a golden age of television entertainment, matching and exceeding films on every level ... including the movie trailer, now.

"Arrow" airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
