Artist Sormeh Saei Explores American Music Icons In 'Double Take' (PHOTOS)

Eye Popping Tributes To Your Favorite Musicians

At 10 years old, Sormeh Saei moved from Iran to the Bronx. Almost 20 years later, in an art exhibition entitled "Double Take," Saei pays tribute to the artists who molded her upbringing with their art with artwork of her own. Her acrylic on canvas doubled paintings incorporate a street art aesthetic with an starstruck gaze.

"The concept behind the double images represents dual perceptions of the musicians. One image is the perception of the artist by society and the mirroring image is the artist's perception of himself in society," Saei wrote in an e-mail to the Huffington Post:

"Double Take" runs until January 30 in New York. See a preview of the images in the slideshow below and let us know which of your childhood idols you would like immortalized in paint.
