Ashley Diamond, a transgender woman who served over three years in a Georgia men's prison, was released in late August after years of reported mistreatment, including alleged sexual assaults and being denied hormone therapy. She spoke with HuffPost Live's Nancy Redd on Thursday alongside Chinyere Ezie, a lead attorney on her case and staff attorney at the Southern Poverty Law Center, to discuss the trauma she faced behind bars and why she wasn't expecting her release so soon.
