"For Ashley Judd to say that to me? That's all I need."

The Judd women -- mom Naomi and daughters Wynonna and Ashley -- have had a complex relationship over the years, as mothers and daughters do. But unlike most family drama, the Judds' tumult has often played out in the public eye.

Naomi, especially, has been open about the troubles plaguing her and her girls. At one point, she and younger daughter Ashley were even estranged after Ashley penned a memoir that included passages critical of her mother. But, today, Naomi says she and Ashley are actually quite close.

"It's interesting how time changes things," Naomi tells "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" "Our relationship is so good."

This shift is illustrated perfectly by a relatively recent family moment that moves Naomi to tears whenever she thinks of it.

"[Ashley] comes in the back door and she plops down on the kitchen couch. She was telling us what all's going on. She's got a movie premiere," Naomi says. "She got up and got ready to leave, and she says, 'This is my happy place.'"

Those five words meant the world to Naomi, but Ashley wasn't finished yet.

"She said, 'As long as you guys are right here, this is my favorite place in the world,'" Naomi recalls.

Retelling the story, the 70-year-old country music legend is still obviously touched.

"I just thought, 'You know, those seven Grammys are good... But for Ashley Judd to say that to me?" Naomi says tearfully. "That's all I need."

"Oprah: Where Are They Now?" airs Saturdays at 10 p.m. ET on OWN.
