Asian Students Attacked At Indiana University

Eight Asian students at Indiana University were subjected to racial slurs and four were subsequently battered and robbed on early Sunday morning, according to the Journal Gazette.

The eight students were walking towards a dorm when three or four male African-Americans made the insulting comments. An argument ensued, resulting in an attack on two of the Asian students. One was sent to hospital with facial injuries but has since been released.

Fox 59 News reports that 3 percent of IU's student body is international, and that many Asian students live at Forest Quad -- where the attacks occurred.

Three members of the attacked group were robbed -- in total, the students lost an iPad, iPod and cell phone, reports the Indiana Daily Student.

Fox 59 reports that if the assailants were visiting IU students, those students will be subject to discipline from the university. Police are still investigating the case.
