When NASA astronaut Scott Kelly returns to Earth on Tuesday night after spending nearly an entire year in space, he will be leaving behind an awesome view of our planet -- from the vantage point of the International Space Station.

Before Kelly was launched to the space station last year, President Barack Obama commented in his 2015 State of the Union address, "Good luck, Captain. Make sure to Instagram it. We’re proud of you."
