ATLAH Missionary Church, Anti-Gay Harlem Church, Posts ANOTHER Homophobic Sign

Here They Go Again...

The notoriously anti-gay ATLAH Missionary Church in Harlem, NY, has posted another virulently homophobic sign, this time informing churches and their members who support "homos" that they will be struck with disease.

The sign reads, "All Churches & Members That Support Homos Cursed Be Thou With Cancer HIV Syphilis Stroke Madness Itch Then Hell 1 Cor. 6:9."

It might behove church members to know that the verse in the Bible actually reads, "Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men." As Towleroad notes, the interpretation of this passage is extremely subjective and doesn't necessarily mean what this church is claiming it means.

ATLAH has displayed a number of anti-gay messages over the past several months. The church first made headlines in late February when religious leaders posted a sign reading, "Obama has released the homo demons on the black man. Look out black woman. A white homo may take your man." The church then later replaced the sign with one that read, "Jesus would stone homos," along with "Stoning is still the law." And later, "Harlem is a sodomite free zone. Stop sodomizing our children in schools across America."

ATLAH has also been the source of a number of protests, including one by a lesbian, Jennifer Louise Lopez, who knocked on the church's door and informed religious leaders that she was there for her stoning. This later led to a large-scale protest during one of the church's services.
