Aubrey McClendon's House On Lake Michigan Is Everything A Vacation Home Should Be (VIDEO)

It boasts one thousand feet of water frontage -- need we say more?

Despite a turbulent career as Chesapeake Energy's co-founder and former CEO, it's still safe to say that Oklahoma native Aubrey McClendon did well for himself on the home front. The Wall Street Journal recently reviewed properties in Georgia, Connecticut and New York, but voted his place on Lake Michigan as their Luxury House of the Week -- and we can certainly see why.

Surprisingly enough (or not), MLive Media Group reports that McClendon never actually lived in the mansion, and is instead listing his untouched abode for a deserving $10 million. From what we can tell, the house features floor-to-ceiling glass panels that overlook one thousand feet of waterfront -- an expansive stretch of real estate considering that the entire property itself is 8,300 square feet.

And according to the WSJ, construction for a mixed-use residential and retail property surrounding this home is slated to start soon. Between the lake views and the promise of walking-distance shops, we think this lofty house is everything a vacation home should be.

To see images of McClendon's house as well as the homes it competed with this week, be sure to watch the video above. And for a peek at America's most expensive real estate, be sure to flip through our slideshow below.
