Audubon Society, Obama Feud In Onion Spoof. But Now They're Friends, Thank Goodness.

Obama vs. Birds: The Best Fake War Ever Declared

To the relief of all the world's nations, a truce has been declared in the (utterly fake and nonsensical) war between President Barack Obama and the Audubon Society.

An Onion spoof published Thursday jokingly suggested that Obama and the bird conservation organization were feuding.

The news satire group's fake tweets portrayed Obama as going so far as to tell the Audubon Society to "Go suck an owl's d*ck."

HuffPost Green was forced to choose sides:

On Friday, Obama's official Twitter account (run by Organizing for Action staff) announced support for the Audubon Society with a much-coveted Follow Friday declaration, immediately easing the rising tension between the president and all of the world's birds:

The Audubon Society acknowledged the generous gesture on their official Twitter account, going so far as to reveal a photo of Obama pardoning a beloved turkey.

The Onion then declared the feud officially over, to which the bird-conservation group offered a good-natured thanks to the comedians for what must have been the highest-profile fake spat they've ever hatched:
