Doctor Shortage: Is An Aging Population Making It Harder To Get Medical Care? (VIDEO)

WATCH: Are Baby Boomers Causing Doctor Shortage?

Baby boomers seeking a doctor's appointment may have to wait months -- even if their condition is serious -- due to a shortage of doctors that's growing worse, according to a CNN report.

By 2020, the Association of American Medical Colleges has predicted there will be a shortage of doctors totaling 92,000. That's seven times worse than shortages reported only two years ago.

The reason? An aging population of retiring doctors that's not being replaced by new recruits. In addition, doctors are being stretched thin by President Obama's healthcare reform, which is increasing the number of people with access to insurance.

As a result, the lives of many post 50s with health problems are being placed in jeopardy. Watch the video to learn more.
