When baby animals are orphaned in the wild, their chances of survival are quite small. Some young animals depend on their mothers to feed them, protect them, and even keep them warm until they are old enough to do all of those things for themselves. So when they lose their moms, they are suddenly helpless and faced with many challenges that they aren’t yet prepared for.
