Barbara Walters Mocks Herself And 'The View' On 'Saturday Night Live'

WATCH: Barbara Walters Mocks Herself On 'SNL'

After decades as the subject of hilarious impersonations, the real Barbara Walters finally graced the set of "Saturday Night Live" -- and she made it clear who is getting the last laugh.

Walters appeared on "Weekend Update" ahead of her retirement to set the record straight about the real "Baba Wawa," as she has become infamously known on "SNL."

Walters took several swipes at herself and some of her most well-known broadcasting goofs, mocking her interviews with President Barack Obama, the Kardashian family and her notorious 1981 interview with Katharine Hepburn. The legendary news anchor, who is set to exit "The View" on May 16, said that it has been an honor to watch "SNL" and see her "groundbreaking career in journalism" get "reduced to a cartoon character with a ridiculous voice."

"You've always been a personal inspiration to me as a news anchor," said "Weekend Update" host Cecily Strong.

"But I'm a real news anchor," Walters responded.

"Oh, but you're a co-host on 'The View'..." Strong said.

"That's a fair point."
