This Baseball Player's Home Run Trot Shows What Toughness Really Means

Less than 10 seconds after hitting a game-tying home run in an Atlantic League playoff game, Sean Smith of the York Revolution was crumpled on the ground beside first base. The York outfielder had slipped while rounding the bag, tearing his ACL in the process.

However, in an inspiring moment, Smith waived off a pinch runner and completed his home run trot on one leg.

The Revolution went on to win their playoff game 3-2, and were quick to credit Smith's grit as a catalyst.

"It gave me chills," said Smith's teammate Justin Greene, per the York Daily Record. "It definitely gave us a kick start."

Unfortunately for the Revolution, their season ended after losing Games 4 and 5 to the Sugar Land Skeeters.
