If your phone comes into the bathroom stall with you, you're not alone. Half of smartphone users age 18-29 admit to using their phones on the throne, according to a new HuffPost/Yougov survey. Bathroom phone use was less popular but not unusual among older respondents.
Next time you borrow a friend's phone, you may want to wash your hands.

Among all adults — not just smartphone users — about a quarter said they regularly use their cell phone in the bathroom.

The HuffPost/YouGov poll was conducted Sept. 7-8 among 1,000 U.S. adults using a sample selected from YouGov's opt-in online panel to match the demographics and other characteristics of the adult U.S. population. Factors considered include age, race, gender, education, employment, income, marital status, number of children, voter registration, time and location of Internet access, interest in politics, religion and church attendance.
