'Batman Vs. Superman' Or 'Superman Vs. Batman': 'Man Of Steel 2' Screenwriter Reveals Title Options For Sequel

The New Batman & Superman Film Is Called ...

"Man of Steel 2," a.k.a. that Batman and Superman film that Warner Bros. announced at Comic-Con on Saturday afternoon, may have a title. According to screenwriter David S. Goyer, the "Man of Steel" sequel will be called either "Batman vs. Superman" or "Superman vs. Batman." (Speculation before the Comic-Con panel also had the film titled "The World's Finest," a reference to the DC Comics series of issues that ran from 1941 through 1986.)

"[That's] the next film we're making, we're already in pre-production, [it] comes out in summer of 2015," Goyer said at a Comic-Con panel celebrating 75 years of Superman. "We're actually not sure whether the title is 'Superman vs. Batman' or 'Batman vs. Superman' but yes, it's that rematch, that combination, the two guys onscreen and that's happening."

The Los Angeles Times first broke news about the big-screen pairing of Batman and Superman on Saturday morning, but it wasn't official until director Zack Snyder and "Man of Steel" co-star Harry Lennix announced the project during the Warner Bros. panel at Comic-Con on Saturday afternoon.
