WATCH: BBC Reporters Describe Capture, Abuse By Libyan Forces

Two BBC journalists who were arrested, beaten and subjected to a mock execution by Libyan forces described their ordeal for the BBC on Thursday. One of them said the situation was "the worst thing I've ever seen in my life."

Feras Killani, a reporter for the BBC Arabic Service, and Goktay Koraltan, a cameraman, were arrested on Monday at a checkpoint close to the Libyan town of Zawiya, which is undergoing heavy fighting.

In an interview with the BBC, Killani and Koraltan spoke of being captured and taken to a barracks by Libyan security. Koraltan said that, when they got there, they could see and hear other people being tortured by their captors. He described them as hooded and handcuffed.

"From the second floor, I heard a lot of screaming," he said. "I can't describe...it was horrible, the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. And I've seen a lot of bad stuff."

Killani said he was hit in the back with a gun, and forced to put his hands behind his head. He said he heard a soldier cock his weapon, and though he would be killed. Koraltan said he could hear Killani being beaten.

"I was thinking, this is the end," he said.
