Bear Cub Rescued Near Ojai, Calif. And Will Be Rehabilitated At Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care (PHOTOS)

An adorable baby bear was recently discovered near the Ojai Raptor Center in Ojai, Calif. by an employee at a nearby ranch. The employee had observed the cub for three days, noting that she didn't have a mother, before bringing her to the center.

The center contacted officials at the California Department of Fish and Game, who worked with two wildlife organizations to save her life last weekend. First officials transported her to the nearby California Wildlife Center in Calabasas, where a wildlife veteranarian determined she was an "excellent candidate" for rehabilitation and release.

Then volunteers transported the cub to Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care last Monday. She'll spend the winter at the Northern California center before being released back into the wild.

Estimated to be just three months old, the cub weighed only 10 lbs. when she was found. Officials determined that she had been abandoned by her mother and would have died in the wild alone. There's no word on a name for the bear just yet -- does anyone have any suggestions?
