'Beauty And The Beast' Could've Had A 'Frozen' Easter Egg, And We Can't Let It Go

There was almost something there that wasn't there before.

Oh Belle no.

From the box-office numbers, the odds are that you’ve probably already seen Disney’s new “Beauty and the Beast.” You probably liked it, too. The movie is a solid live-action adaptation of the animated classic, bringing to life some iconic scenes with the help of Hermione Granger herself (Emma Watson). But, apparently, it could’ve been even better.

While talking with People, Josh Gad, who plays LeFou in the film, revealed there was almost a “Frozen” Easter egg:

The Easter egg I fought for [director] Bill Condon to put in but we never did, there’s a moment in the original where a bunch of snow falls on LeFou and he becomes a snowman and I thought, this could kill. It’s a little meta but it could be great.

Here’s the moment from the original “Beauty and the Beast” that Gad is talking about:

For everyone who’s forgotten, Gad played Olaf in “Frozen.” If we saw him become a snowman in another Disney movie, we probably couldn’t let it go.

Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be.

(C’mon, Disney. Do you wanna build a ... fan base?)

Cheer up though, peeps. For everyone craving Easter eggs, at least there’s that possible “Harry Potter” nod in the opening song. It doesn’t get more magical than that.

Still, we wish there was something there that wasn’t there before.
