Will Victoria And David Beckham Buy The Versace Mansion?

There's A New Rumor About The Beckhams

Could the Versace mansion be reinstated as the Miami palace of European excess and embellishment?

Perhaps, if one set of rumored buyers snatches up the property at an auction on September 17.

British tabloid Now Daily is abuzz that David and Victoria Beckham have expressed interest in Casa Casuarina, the former home of Italian designer Gianni Versace and the only private residence on South Beach's Ocean Drive.

Victoria is "positively drooling at the prospect of living there," says their source.

And who better to swim in a 24-carat-lined pool or relieve themselves on a $10,000 toilet than the pop star who donned herself 'Posh'?

Husband David was recently in Miami, sniffing out opportunities for a Major League Soccer team in the city, so there may be some merit to the rumors across the pond. Though cities haven't yet been awarded, the league is set to add four teams by the 2020 season, and Becks' last MLS contract included an option to purchase on retirement.

The Versace mansion originally went on the market in January for a staggering $125 million. The price has since been slashed and the sale will go to the highest bidder next month.

Prospective buyers must first qualify by proving they have access to at least $40 million in funds.

That should be no problem for the Beckhams, as David recently made $42 million from commercial endorsements, according to Forbes, and is the richest athlete in British sports.
