In the unlikely event you needed further proof that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are the most precious celebrity couple alive, Affleck made sure to remind you of it yet again this weekend.
The awards-season champion collected the top honor at Saturday's Director Guild of America Awards, where he took home Outstanding Directorial Achievement for "Argo." While accepting the award, Affleck took a moment to bestow upon us another gushing profession of his love for Garner.
"I have to just thank my wife for being the best person in the world. I love you," Affleck said. "I don't need to look at the teleprompter to know why I want to thank you. I want to thank you because I love you."
In addition to his lovey-dovey moment and despite his profusely successful awards run, with the exception of his inexplicable Oscar snub, Affleck went on to explain that he still does not quite see himself as a true director.
"I worked really, really hard to become the best director I could be, by putting in as [many] hours as I [could], and banging my head against a wall, berating myself, lying to myself about whether it was going to work," he continued. "And I don't think this makes me a real director, but I think it means I'm on my way."
In keeping with the rest of Affleck's awards-season trajectory, Garner was also enthusiastic about her husband's win. A source told Us Weekly that Garner was "overjoyed" for her husband.
Affleck has collected a bundle of honors so far this year, catapulting "Argo" to what many say is a front-runner status at the Oscars. The director took him the Golden Globe for Best Director, as well as recognition from the Producers Guild, the Screen Actors Guild and the Critics' Choice Awards.
