Bernie Sanders Rises In Latest Iowa Poll

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) continues to gain on Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in Iowa, according to a new Quinnipiac poll released Thursday.

The poll finds Sanders grabbing 33 percent of the vote in the Iowa caucus, compared to Clinton's 52 percent. Although his standing remains modest in comparison to Clinton's, Sanders is the only other Democratic candidate with double-digit support in the state.

The results mark an 18-point jump for Sanders from two months ago, when he carried just 15 percent of the vote in an earlier Quinnipiac poll. A Bloomberg poll conducted in mid-June also found growing support for Sanders, placing him second to Clinton with 24 percent of the vote to her 50 percent.

While Sanders has gained some momentum in Iowa, he's doing better in New Hampshire. A Suffolk University poll conducted in mid-June placed Sanders within 10 points of Clinton.

Nationally, Sanders finds himself in a weaker position. According to the HuffPost Pollster chart, which aggregates all publicly available poll results, Sanders holds just 15 percent of support nationally, compared to Clinton's 58 percent.

Quinnipiac surveyed 761 likely Iowa Democratic caucus participants in live interviews via landline and cell phone between June 20-29.
