In the ongoing burger wars much mayo, mustard and pickles have been slung across the grill. The quintessential American meal is cheeseburger, fries and a Coke. You can get one just about anywhere, from a mom and pop diner to an international chain that churns 'em out factory style. And bland!

But the question we at Taleee asked is: who makes the best based on overall opinion? Not from one site, a food critic or newspaper but from those of us eating the food and sharing our experience in reviews and social media: web-wide. Big picture.

So with our consensus engine technology we tallied up what everyone thinks about the two burger chains going head to head: In-N-Out and Five Guys. A West Coast legend vs. an East Cast upstart.

While both firms slung a good burger only one slings a great burger consistently across locations according to the 5,000+ opinions we counted nationwide. Not every location nailed it, some were blasted by diners for various reasons. And while both chains scored good vs. most other burger joints one of these two scored more 4 stars and higher than any other. See the nifty infographic for the winner.
