In The Future, Almost All Of America's 'Best' Cities Will Be On The West Coast, Report Says

Is the future bright for the city you live in? Apparently, it depends on which coast you live on.

CreditDonkey, a financial education website, recently released a study naming what it says will be America's 10 "best" cities in the future. Seven of the top 10 are on the West Coast. None is in the Northeast.

The study looked at data for 420 cities, its author, Tina Orem, told The Huffington Post. Between all the cities, CreditDonkey compared these five data points, which it deemed relevant to what will become America's "best" cities:

1. Percentage of housing built in 1990 or later (U.S. Census).
2. Population change since 2010 (U.S. Census).
3. Construction jobs as percentage of population (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
4. Space travel companies and proposed spaceports (Federation Aviation Administration).
5. Available DeLorean cars, like from the 1980s film "Back to the Future" (eBay past-year sales).

Of course, while new housing and construction are signs of growth, space travel companies and DeLorean cars have very little to do with it. Still, the data is interesting, surprising and, at the very least, more reliable than jumping in a "Back to the Future" car to check out America's cities of tomorrow.
