Facebook is the best company to intern for, according to a new ranking from Glassdoor. Considering Facebook interns reportedly make more than $5,600 a month, we're not exactly surprised.
Behind Facebook, Google came in a close No. 2. Most of the top 25 ranking is dominated by finance and technology companies.
The ranking was based on intern feedback shared on Glassdoor over the past year, the company said. The ratings were based on a 1 to 5 scale, with 5 being the highest.
Glassdoor also noted which cities have the most internship offerings: "New York City has nearly 900 employers hiring interns right now, followed by Los Angeles with 500 employers hiring interns and the SF Bay Area with more than 450."
So what will it take to get one of these internships?
A separate report from InternMatch shows two-thirds of Fortune 1000 companies will consider an applicant's grade point average as a factor in their hiring decision. That report also notes most recruiters will scrutinize applicant resumes, but only 2.5 percent of employers "consider the university a student attends as a predictor for success at their organization."
