January Jones Takes The Slit To New Heights On Best-Dressed List

Ow ow.

It may feel like fall outside, but in Hollywood it's still summer ... at least according to some of the wardrobe choices our favorite stars made this week.

Claire Danes stunned in a breezy eyelet dress (which would have made for the perfect summer staple), January Jones wore a higher than high slit (which may leave you frost-bitten this time of year) and Amal Clooney proved that short hemlines have a place in the cooler weather (OK, no arguing here).

Check out the best-dressed stars of the week and let us know if you agree with our picks.

Don't be afraid of high slits.

January Jones in Altuzarra: OK, the slit is a little high, but Jones looks so darn good, we can't complain. Her crisp white blouse really helps to make her bright orange skirt pop, and that brown leather bag pulls the entire outfit together.
Play with colorful lipstick when you're wearing neutrals.

Zoe Saldana in Altuzarra: This beige shade on Saldana is really pretty against her complexion -- not everyone can wear this particular hue. We love how the actress paired her sophisticated dress with fashion-forward shoes and bold red lipstick. This look hits all the right notes.
Head-to-toe green is perfect for fall.

Amal Clooney in Versace: Well, we'll be damned. We didn't think the human rights lawyer could look any more stylish and then she pulls out this green Versace number (with matching shoes, of course). All we can say is, never underestimated Mrs. Clooney.
Put a new spin on an old trend.

Kate Bosworth in Christian Dior: It looks like the actress just made us fall in love with the tuxedo dress all over again. Of course the fashionista didn't just wear any ordinary menswear-inspired dress, she opted for one with beautiful architectural details (just look at that exaggerated peplum). This is a look we'll be copying.
Eyelet and ruffles are a great combo.

Claire Danes in Oscar de la Renta: When Danes gets it right, it's so right. The ruffles, the eyelet and the color all together could be too much, but the snug fit of the dress and her bare arms help to balance everything out.
