Karlie Kloss Proves Ugly Can Be Beautiful On Our Best-Dressed List

Orange you glad Kloss picked this color?

When an ugly color lands on the best-dressed list, we start to question everything. That's the position we found ourselves in this week when we fell in love with a marmalade-hued dress.

That's right. Karlie Kloss made us fall head-over-heels for an orange-hued dress. And she wasn't the only one who experimented with color. Lupita Nyong’o dazzled in lime and Naomie Harris made a case for red and pink floral appliqué.

Dare to wear ugly colors.

Karlie Kloss in Roksanda: We are going to be honest and say that this color is a little ugly, but somehow, Kloss made us fall in love with it. Maybe it's the beautiful silhouette, or her skin color against the orange hue, but one way or another, we are glad she dared to wear it.
A leather jacket can help make a bright dress work in fall weather.

Lupita Nyong’o in Narciso Rodriguez: A lime dress doesn't exactly scream late fall, but here, Nyong'o made it look seasonally appropriate by tossing on a leather jacket and carrying a hunter green purse. While her legs may be a little chilly, the crepe material of her dress is more substantial than your traditional sundress.
Slicked back hair pairs perfectly with a girly dress.

Rooney Mara in Chanel: Mara's severe hair is a nice contrast to her soft, feminine dress. We also love how she opted for red lipstick and that on-trend choker. This lady knows what she is doing in the fashion department.
Color-coordinate with your friends.

Alicia Keys, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend: Where do we even start with a squad like this? Alicia Keys is serving us style in that plunging black dress, Teigen is straight up maternity goals in her tight little gold number and Legend is making a case for a white jacket and bow-tie.
Always try and create texture.

Naomie Harris in Alexander McQueen: Harris looks like a breath of fresh air in this floral appliqué dress. Not only is there great texture in her look, but the midi length is ideal to break up this busy ensemble.
It's OK to stick with what you know.

Naomie Harris in Kaufmanfranco: This look is by no means groundbreaking, but it's insanely flattering on the actress. Sometimes it's alright to stick with what you know works.
