Oh magazines, how we hardly knew ye. It took a retrospective of the many, many, many titles that have shuttered over the years -- from industry juggernauts like House & Garden, to the all-around-loved Domino -- to make us realize just how much we value quality time with a well-styled spread.
So, what is a fan of decor, vintage and crafts to do in this new media landscape? Well, they should turn to the web. Aside from the obvious sources (well, hello!) there are no shortage of inspiring magazines just a click away. While we know Lonny and Matchbook, there are a few lesser-known reads that one, well, must read! Here are a selection from our Kindles and Nooks.
Kinfolk Magazine
This mag is heaven-sent for those who love to entertain (or think they love to entertain).
Adore Home
This Australian magazine features the best in modern-but-quirky decor.
Sweet Paul Mag
Sweet Paul specializes in food and entertaining ideas. You know, the kind of beautiful pictures that make you seem like an absolute slouch -- in the best way possible. Look out, Martha Stewart.
We may not have the "touch" when it comes to keeping our greenery alive, but the upscale gardens in this mag make us feel slightly hopeful that we can one day have a beautiful backyard space. One can dream, right?
Ivy & Piper
Australia has a stronghold on creatives, it seems. We all need to move there, yes?
HeartHome
OK, so maybe our friends in England also have a stronghold on creativity, gorgeous interiors and fabulous inspirational ideas.
91 Magazine
Finally! A magazine for vintage lovers. We're obsessed.
Mollie Makes
Another across-the-pond resource, focusing on DIY culture and crafts.
