When it comes to pie, we know people have strong feelings. There are a lot of great pies out there, and no two people seem to feel the same way about what makes one pie better than another. And when there's food controversy, we editors at HuffPost Taste can't help but stir the pot. So we want to know, when it comes to pie, which flavor is really the best?
With summer coming to an end, and fall fast on its heels, we have been thinking a lot about pie. (Or really just wanting to eat it.) So what better time than the present to name one pie the king of all pies? Since there are so many amazing pies out there, it was extremely difficult to narrow down our deathmatch selection to just eight. But we did it with the help of this survey listing America's top pies. If your pie is not on the list, blame the survey. And in the meantime, vote in the deathmatch below.
Here's how the Pie Deathmatch voting will go down:
Round One voting opens at 9:00am Eastern, Sept. 3.
Wednesday, September 4th at 12:00am Eastern, Round Two begins.
Thursday, September 5th at 12:00am Eastern, you'll be able to vote in Round Three.
Friday morning, September 6th, we'll announce which pie flavor is the all-time best.
Now it's time to make some pie.
